@abcdw Indeed!
By the way, I need to catch up on the recording of your stream from this morning, had a meeting so I wasn't able to join!

One thing I love about Greece is that even when the weather forecast calls for rain, it almost never rains. Sunshine almost every day.
Contrast that to Seattle where you don't even have to look at the forecast because you already know it's going to suck.
@wilfredh Igalia is awesome
@abcdw awesome, nice work!
@abcdw Good luck! I am also aiming to go independent this year and make a living from FOSS project work and creating educational content.
I'll be curious to see what you do! Let me know if there's any way I can help
@abcdw I need to catch up on your more recent streams, will let you know if I think of anything!
@abcdw that'd be cool! I'd also love to stream more regularly but there's so little time
@abcdw Nice! It is pretty convenient building derivations at the REPL.
The one thing I really need to figure out is how to quickly open the output file or folder of a build in Emacs so that I can inspect it without copy/pasting the path.
Probably not that hard to do, just needs a few moments to try it!
@abcdw I watch streams on YouTube, but I'm very interested in streaming primarily from my own server, possibly Peertube or Owncast. Probably not super easy to package and host either of those with Guix, though
@abcdw yeah, all I really want to see is which sites people find mine from and which pages are viewed the most. It's great for that! No tracking cookies that follow viewers around the web.
Spending some time today polishing my talk about Guix Home for FOSDEM!
I'm looking forward to helping more people get started with Guix this year. I've got at least 5 videos about it planned for System Crafters!
@abcdw congratulations!
@dgr @abcdw I believe it stands for Reproducible Development Environment
I want to make a lot of new #SystemCrafters videos next year!
What would you like to see?
@abcdw nice place, congrats!
@abcdw I've seen it take 10 minutes before but never an hour!
This week I'm embarking on a plan to get my workflow under control.
I tend to let myself dive too deeply into whatever I'm absorbed in at the moment, letting other responsibilities slide. That's obviously not a good way to operate. It's had a noticeable impact on my health over the last few months.
The new aim is to introduce more discipline into my process to achieve consistent results with less intensity. I'll write about it more once the details of the plan are clear.
@ivan yep, with time boxing I always end up feeling like I don't accomplish enough, but I know that it helps to load balance things better!
I asked ChatGPT to write a poem about Emacs, here's what it returned.
Experimenting with Woodpecker CI on @Codeberg this morning. It's really easy to get started, which is nice.
Since the build images are all Docker containers, I'm now looking into how I can create a custom. build image to use Guix Shell to manage build dependencies and environment.
I'll either create a Docker image directly from `guix system` or use the Guix package in the Debian image to set things up more simply. Will be fun to experiment!
